The Mother/Baby RN provides family-centered couplet care, including skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding support for postpartum mothers and newborns. They are responsible for assessing patient needs, prioritizing care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Alabama nursing license. BLS and NRP certifications are required within six months of hire.
Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience. License, Certification and /or Registration: Current Alabama or Multi-state Nursing License required. BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained in the orientation period. PALS Certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire. BLS and PALS must be obtained and/or maintained through Huntsville Hospital's Corporate University. Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently. Department specific competencies must be completed within the provisional period.
