Physician, Neurosurgery (Full Time)

NorthBay Health is seeking a Board-Certified, Licensed Neurosurgeon to join our renowned healthcare team in Northern California. The Neurosurgeon will manage a broad range of complex neurological conditions and procedures, offering both inpatient and outpatient care. This role will involve diagnosing, treating, and surgically managing conditions of the brain, spine, and nervous system, collaborating with other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.

Position Overview • Schedule

• Combined clinic and surgery 4 days a week, with one admin day
• Call
• Schedule: 24 hour call shifts 0700-0700
• Call
• Ratio: 3-7 days per month as needed for coverage

• Load: clinic 15-20 pt’s, surgery based on the cases scheduled. Adult and Geriatric populations.

• Services: Advanced Neurosurgical tools, MRI, CT, Neuro Navigation systems, Spinal Imaging, Electromyography (EMG).

Key Responsibilities • Patient Care

• Diagnose and manage neurological conditions, including brain and spinal tumors, epilepsy, vascular disorders, traumatic brain injuries, degenerative spinal diseases, and other neuro-related disorders.
• Surgical
• Procedures: Perform a variety of neurosurgical procedures, such as brain and spine surgeries, minimally invasive techniques, craniotomies, spinal fusions, and stereotactic surgeries.
• Collaborative
• Care: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, oncologists, physical therapists, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Post-Operative
• Care: Manage post-surgical care for patients, including recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term follow-up care.
• Emergency
• Neurosurgery: Respond to urgent and emergent neurological cases, including trauma, stroke, and other time-sensitive surgical interventions.
• Research and
• Innovation: Participate in research studies and clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical practices.
• Education: Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and post-surgical recovery plans. Provide mentorship to residents and fellows.

• Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

• Adherence: Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and standards established by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and other governing bodies.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
