The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management within an inpatient hospital setting. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and provide both individual and group therapy to support patient recovery.
Candidates must hold an active Maryland Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license and a valid DEA certificate. A minimum of three years of experience in an acute psychiatric setting is preferred.
Adult Inpatient Services at Sheppard Pratt provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adults experiencing acute mental health challenges. Our programs are designed to support stabilization, safety, and recovery within a structured hospital setting.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, including experience in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting.
The Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct psychiatric care through evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including prescribing and managing medications. Patients are treated within the hospital setting, where the nurse practitioner conducts admission assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides both individual and group therapies. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the nurse practitioner plays a critical role in supporting stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.
The pay range for this position is $135,000 minimum to $185,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
