Performs radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety. Facilitates imaging support across operating rooms, clinics, and patient care units while maintaining equipment and supplies.
Requires current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah and ARRT registration. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving medical equipment or patients.
Essential Functions Performs radiographic procedures and critiques radiograph to ensure high quality images. Applies the principles of radiation safety during the process of acquiring radiographic images. Facilitates and coordinates imaging support in the operating room, patient care units, and clinics. Assesses patient vital signs and conditions when indicated during procedures. Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and service entity. May assist in orienting, training, and mentoring new employees or students on department workflow, practices, policies, and procedures. Prepares, cleans, and stocks rooms with supplies and linens. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Proficiency in department exam protocols and procedures. Demonstrated proficiency with all imaging acquisition devices. Ability to perform all essential functions as listed above. Demonstrated effective and appropriate communication skills with patients, visitors, staff and providers. Ability to select proper radiograph exposure factors and make the appropriate changes when necessary to ensure quality images. Ability to prioritize patient workload and be flexible to meet the needs of the patients. Demonstrated proficiency in all radiographic positioning and procedures. Ability to obtain imaging on patients of varying ages and abilities.
