The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for meeting the medical assessment and treatment needs of residents, conducting medical assessments, and ensuring timely clinical documentation. They also provide coverage at various locations and supervise patient transfers to emergency care when necessary.
Candidates must have completed an approved nurse practitioner program and hold a current NYS NP license. A minimum of three years of related experience in providing medical care to chemically addicted residents is required.

You will have responsibilities including but not limited to: Meet the medical assessment and treatment needs of each resident Provides safety assessment for withdrawal symptoms or other potentially life-threatening behavior or conditions within 24 hours of admissions Notifies on call physician of immediate crisis Provide peer to peer reviews to managed care companies and other healthcare entities Conclude a medical assessment within 7 days of admission and a full history and physical, when necessary, within 21/45 days of admission Conduct a medical assessment of physical and mental health conditions and medical treatment to stabilize and then enable the resident to manage chronic health and mental health conditions including treatment of physical health conditions that are routine Job Details: Brentwood Mental Health Clinic - Brentwood, NY Salary range $85.00 - $91.00 hourly QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts. Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state. Because of the nature of responsibilities, it is preferable to have experience in counseling and teaching and have a master's degree. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an indoor medical clinical environment. This role also routinely meets patients who may have contagious illnesses. Appropriate PPE will be provided and required.
