We are a busy Gastroenterology office with 33 Providers. We are looking for a team-oriented individual to provide great care to our patients! This individual should show great attention to detail and a passion for healthcare.
We are currently expanding our Practice by adding additional providers and several more procedure rooms and providers! We are looking to bring on additional team members to help accommodate for the increased number of patients we will be seeing!

Job summary
Monitors, coordinates, and triages patient care with the physician. This position is performed primarily on the computer and the phone, but has occasional face-to-face care with patients when covering in our clinic. Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Provides patient education. Works collaboratively with assigned physician, nurse team, Advanced Practice Providers, and other departments as necessary to provide exceptional patient care.

Essential job functions
1.
Responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices in a caring and timely manner.

Gathers patient information, records, and reports patient’s condition to the physician.
3.
Carries out authorized orders from physician and charts it in patient’s medical record.
4.
Communicates to patient changes in education, test results, procedure preparation, and medication orders as directed by the physician.
5.
Works collaboratively with the assigned provider(s) and nurse team to complete all responsibilities relating to patient calls and tasks, and with clinic coverage.
6.
Greets patients in a pleasant and caring manner, and escorts patient to exam room.
Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
Takes patient history, medication information, and vital signs.

Documents the patient’s stated medical problems.

Responsible for entering the provider’s orders into the patient’s medical record as directed.

Assists providers with patients and other duties as needed.

Assists with monitoring patient flow through the clinic.

Assists walk-in patients as needed.
12.
Completes pre-procedure checklists and procedure preparation questions for the Lincoln Endoscopy Center, L.L.C., as necessary.

Prepares and cleans examination rooms.
Stocks supplies as needed.
14.
Maintains inventory of medical supplies and patient education materials and reorders as necessary.
15.
Maintains an organized sample room that is well supplied with medications that are not expired.

Maintains patient confidentiality.
17.
Demonstrates good communication and interaction skills when dealing with supervisors, co-workers, patients, families, and other departments.

Performance requirements
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Ability to interpret and maintain accurate medical records and accurately record test results. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in assisting or administering a variety of treatment methods and medications as directed. Skills and abilities in developing and maintaining department quality assurance and control standards. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instruction. Skill in operating a keyboard, photocopier, fax machine, and other technology typical of an office environment. Ability to communicate clearly. Skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Required ability to work in a caring and kind manner under high stress with patients who are irritable or confused.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as RN or LPN required.
Experience
1. Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical/surgical setting OR five (5) years’ experience in a medical office setting preferred. 2. Intensive care experience or experience in the specialty of GI nursing is preferred.
Certificate/Licensure
A current Nebraska license as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. CPR certification.
Schedule
Full-time hours vary depending on clinic schedule between
Monday-Friday from starting between 7:30am - 8:30am and finishing between 4:30pm - 5:00pm each day. This position would have most Friday afternoons off! Hybrid remote work is available after 6 months of training/employment.
Expected Hours: 36-40 hours/week
