The technologist assists licensed practitioners with scheduled and emergency interventional procedures using fluoroscopic and angiographic equipment, while providing comprehensive care to patients across all age groups. Responsibilities also include patient/family education, maintaining positive communication, instructing students, and accurately documenting orders in the medical record.
Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program and maintain active ARRT registry status along with an Iowa Permit to Practice. Preferred qualifications include two years of experience, current BLS certification (or obtained within three months), and completion of ACLS qualification within six months.
Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program is required. Maintains active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular/Interventional (CV) certification preferred. Maintains current and valid Permit to Practice Radiology Technologist license in the state of employment. Previous interventional radiology experience preferred. Completion of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Mandatory Reporter training for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within three (3) months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within six (6) weeks of hire. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred unless required by local site Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
