The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including dose preparation, patient imaging, and radiopharmacy functions. They are responsible for maintaining equipment quality control, ensuring radiation safety, and providing direct patient care in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology and hold current certification as a CNMT or ARRT(N). Additionally, a current Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and BLS certification are required.
Nuclear medicine technologists are direct patient caregivers. They perform dose preparation and administration functions for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purpose; perform patient procedures, process, and enhance images, and prepare images for interpreting physician to view.
