The Clinical Research Coordinator oversees day-to-day operations of clinical trials, including patient recruitment and the informed consent process. They also ensure regulatory compliance with FDA guidelines and perform clinical tasks such as blood sample collection and processing.
Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in any field, with higher levels requiring one to two years of relevant clinical research experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, and strong communication skills are essential for the role.
Entry Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. One (1) year clinical research or related experience. Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in any field. Two (2) years clinical research or related experience. A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field. Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience. Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems). Experience with and proficient in adult and pediatric phlebotomy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Conscientious and meticulous in data extraction and data entry. Ability to work well in a team environment, but also able to work independently. Ability to adhere to local and federal regulations and ethical codes with respect to the protection of human subjects and patient confidentiality and privacy. Ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. Ability to understand, learn, and adhere to department Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to adjust to and meet new or unanticipated work challenges. Proficient in study-specific procedures and techniques; updating, learning, and implementing changes when industry, University, or Section standards change.
This position includes travel to outreach clinic locations two (2) to four (4) times per year.
