The Surgical Assistant provides intraoperative technical support to surgeons, including exposure, hemostasis, and closure. They also perform preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure safe patient care within the perioperative environment.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Surgical Assistant program and hold national certification from NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA. Proficiency in anatomy, physiology, and informatics technology is required, along with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Education Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant Program or an equivalent program that meets the educational requirements of the designated national certifying body. (Required) Work Experience Physician relations experience strongly (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency) Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills. (Required proficiency) Demonstrated skills related to Informatics Technology. (Required proficiency) Working knowledge of equipment with the ability to troubleshoot issues for resolution.
