The Nuclear Medicine Technologist coordinates daily patient flow and produces high-quality nuclear images of the heart for review by cardiologists. They are also responsible for maintaining the hot lab, ensuring radiation safety compliance, and providing direct patient care within the cardiology department.
Candidates must hold a High School diploma and possess NMTCB or ARRT certification along with current BLS/CPR. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting with proficiency in myocardial perfusion imaging is required.

High School diploma or equivalent Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current Basic Life Support (CPR) or able to obtain within 30 days of hire 2+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated proficiency in myocardial perfusion imaging Experience in the set-up and maintenance of a hot lab Knowledge of adult coronary anatomy and coronary disease processes Ability to perform routine and emergent gated myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging Ability to initiate and discontinue IV access for isotope injections Demonstrated organization and team building skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills
Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field and/or equivalent and relevant work experience Experience in performing MUGA imaging
Normal nuclear lab environment Daily exposure to radioactive materials (Thallium, Tc-99m Sestamibi, or Tc-99m Tetrofosmin)
