The surgical technologist assists the surgical team by maintaining a sterile field and performing scrub duties during procedures. They are also responsible for passing instruments, assisting with tissue retraction, and acting as a preceptor and instrument room liaison.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification. Alternatively, an LVN license is accepted for those meeting specific criteria.
