The pharmacy technician assists pharmacists in processing medication orders, including selecting, preparing, and dispensing medications for inpatient and outpatient services. They are also responsible for maintaining inventory, managing automated dispensing cabinets, and ensuring accurate patient billing.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and possess a valid ExCPT or PTCB certification along with state board registration. Previous experience in a pharmacy setting such as retail, hospital, or home infusion is preferred.
Certified Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient – Lorain Hospital Shift/Schedule Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours Primary Shift Times - Afternoons/Evenings (1pm-9:30pm). Availability on Other Shifts for Coverage - As Needed Rotating Weekends and Holidays Reports to Title: Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager, or Director
Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Under general supervision, assist the pharmacist in processing of medication orders by selecting, assembling, and preparing medications to be dispensed for inpatient (acute care; hospital) and/or outpatient (ambulatory; retail; home infusion) services. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will have a variety of job responsibilities within the pharmacy that may encompass various activities.

Licensing/Certification ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
Education High School Diploma or GED (required)
Completion of ASHP/ACPE tech training program - or - pharmacy technician training via Armed Forces/Veterans Affairs - or respective state department approved career tech high school program (preferred)
