The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting under the supervision of providers. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing diagnostic procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved LPN school of nursing and hold a current LPN license. Basic Life Support or CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Draw blood. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Administer medications including oral, SQ and IM Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight. Comply with all policies and procedures. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
