Documentation

• Maintains accurate and comprehensive documentation of all patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Patient
• Education: Educates patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, newborn care, postpartum self-care, and available resources.

Collaboration

• Collaborates effectively with physicians, midwives, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless and holistic care.
• Emergency
• Response: Responds promptly and effectively to emergencies, including fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, and newborn resuscitation.

• Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree program in Nursing Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required. Additional certifications in fetal monitoring or other relevant areas are a plus AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification or equivalent is required within 90-days of hire 2 years of recent experience in labor and delivery nursing is preferred Recent experience in an acute care facility is highly desirable About Nashville General Hospital Nashville General Hospital (NGH) is Nashville’s original community- based hospital.
