• Certifications/Licensures: Registered Technician with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy and obtain certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within one year of hire. Pharmacy Technician job family roles employed before August 1, 2011, may remain employed as a Pharmacy Tech/Buyer without meeting the certification requirement. Essential Functions

• PHARMACY: Responsible for assisting pharmacists in receiving, processing, and dispensing of all physicians' orders for medications, IV solutions and outpatient prescriptions. Transports drugs and supplies to and from the pharmacy area to ensure delivery of quality care according to established protocols and transport times. Training in aseptic technique and performs duties and responsibilities of an IV technician preferred. Responsible for answering phones, window and doors, also loading and unloading the pneumatic tube system. Assist in pulling out dates from main pharmacy and automated dispensing cabinets. Assist in stock replenishment and maintaining inventory. Works with pharmacists in performing monthly nursing stat Additional Duties Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
