The Intervention Specialist performs specialized intervention programs, provides direct behavior therapy, and monitors patient progress. They also facilitate daily activity schedules, train team members on intervention plans, and maintain a structured unit environment.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in human services is required for those without a Bachelor's degree, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The Intervention Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties involved in carrying out general and specialized intervention programs as well as team member education regarding implementation and monitoring of these interventions. Essential Functions: Provides information relative to assessment to all disciplines Provides input into intervention plans in conjunction with appropriate discipline Communicates effectiveness of interventions to appropriate discipline Maintains orderly and appropriately stocked supplies and activities on unit Facilitates implementation of daily activity schedule in conjunction with Program Coordinator Provides training of intervention plans to various disciplines involved in patient care Monitors implementation of intervention plans and provides feedback regarding plan implementation Provides direct behavior therapy and active treatment programming on individual and/or group basis including proactive strategies and crisis intervention and models programming for all team members Assists with maintaining a structured milieu Collects, records, and enters data on observable patient behavior Accepts participation in special projects and appointments to hospital committees as appropriate Assists with floor coverage and other unit duties, as necessary Shift Requirements: Shift Length (in hours): 10 hours # Shifts/Week: 4 Overtime Required: ☒ Infrequently ☐ Sometimes ☐ Often ☐ n/a (exempt position) Other Functions: Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times Performs other duties as assigned Additional
