Assists providers and nursing staff in delivering patient care in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. Responsible for identifying patient needs across the lifespan and providing health education and disease prevention services.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited medical assistant training program. Must hold current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant and possess a valid CPR certification.
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited vocational training program for medical assistants. Certification or registration as Medical Assistant required. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Must have current CPR certification. Prior experience in various nursing areas preferred. Prior experience in patient education primarily in diabetes, hypertension, cardiac, pediatrics, immunizations and other health related education programs preferred
