The Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician performs laboratory procedures, quality control, and equipment maintenance across various clinic locations. They also provide technical support to staff and ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and possess valid ASCP or AMT certification. Proficiency in laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and adherence to HIPAA and CLIA regulations is required.

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or related science is required. Valid certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT) or valid certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Technologist in Microbiology (ASCP), with certification as a Medical Lab Technician (ASCP) or valid certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Technologist in Chemistry (ASCP), with certification as a Medical Lab Technician (ASCP) or valid certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Technologist in Hematology (ASCP), with certification as a Medical Lab Technician (ASCP). Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment. Knowledge of current laboratory safety and hygiene protocols. Knowledge and ability to accurately perform tests. Knowledge of quality control testing procedures and practices. Ability to perform troubleshooting on laboratory equipment. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer-based applications such as MS Office, electronic medical record systems and laboratory related applications. Experience with EPIC is desirable. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements. Knowledge of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) of 1988 and requirements to keep GHC-SCW laboratories in compliance is required. Ability to be on-call every other week to provide support to laboratory operations is required. Ability to provide own transportation to various work locations is required.
