The Clinical Pharmacist monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcomes and provides accurate medication distribution. They also implement nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens while supervising pharmacy technical staff.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a valid Alabama pharmacy license. Completion of a post-graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience is strongly preferred.
Overview Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.
Education: Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.
