Job description
We are seeking a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to join our Pulmonary team. In this role, you will work under the general supervision of the Medical Director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This includes conducting diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies, delivering direct patient care, and educating patients throughout the testing process.
Essential responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient‑specific needs
Follow established sleep center protocols and provide age‑appropriate patient education
Prepare, calibrate, and operate sleep study equipment; apply electrodes and sensors according to published standards
Perform routine PAP interface fitting and desensitization
Educate patients on sleep lab procedures and testing expectations
Monitor and record sleep study data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Analyze and score polysomnographic data, including respiratory and cardiac events
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members
Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and documentation standards
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required
Associate Degree in a healthcare‑related field preferred
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a healthcare setting with patient contact OR appropriate credentialing for the position
Licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians as a Polysomnographic Technologist
Current BLS (CPR) certification in compliance with policy
