The CMA assists physicians and APPs with clinical and administrative tasks, including patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and medication administration. They also maintain treatment rooms, document patient care, and facilitate communication between departments to ensure quality patient service.
Candidates must hold a current LPN license in Wisconsin or a recognized Medical Assistant credential, along with BLS and CPR certifications. A minimum of one year of OB experience is preferred, and the role requires proficiency in medical office equipment and clinical procedures.
Assists with the examination and treatment of patients within the scope of administrative and clinical tasks as delegated by the physician/APP. This includes greeting and assisting patients with paperwork, taking blood and giving injections, taking a history and doing vital signs. In addition, the CMA can help in assessing the patient’s condition, identifying problems and making informed decisions regarding appropriate care interventions.
