Assist professional nursing personnel in providing resident care within a medical treatment unit. Manage emergency or crisis situations while maintaining accurate records and effective working relationships.
Requires a valid California certificate for nursing assistant and BLS certification through AHA. Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Sub-Acute unit is mandatory.
Under general direction from Nursing Manager, and/or RN/LVN assists, professional nursing personnel in providing resident care in assigned area.
Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility/Sub-Acute unit required.
Possession of an appropriate, valid California certificate for nursing assistant.
BLS certification through AHA.
Knowledge & abilities
Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Learn the terminology of parts and supplies associated with area of assignment.
Learn quickly the specific operations of a medical treatment unit.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
Work effectively under stress and in emergency situations
Keep simple records.
Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgement/action which could result in undesirable resident outcomes.
