Essential Functions As an ED RN, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care:
Perform triage and prioritize patients based on acuity using established protocols
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Recognize changes in patient condition and respond rapidly with appropriate interventions
Provide emergency treatments including IV therapy, wound care, and life support stabilization
Administer and document medications safely and accurately
Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Ensure compliance with EMTALA, infection control, and patient safety standards
Support efficient patient flow, including admissions, discharges, and transfers Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Active West Virginia RN License
Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred
Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Experience with electronic health record systems Certifications Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Within 6 months
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Within 6 months
