The Medical Assistant provides clinical support across multiple urology clinic locations by assisting providers with patient exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests. Responsibilities include maintaining patient flow, performing phlebotomy, documenting data in the EMR, and ensuring clinical areas remain sanitized and compliant with safety standards.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and a current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA). Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office, along with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, is required.

The purpose of this position is to provide clinical support on an as-needed basis across all Urology Austin locations. The PRN (as needed) Float Medical Assistant assists physicians and advanced practice providers with patient care and clinical tasks to maintain efficient patient flow and high-quality service during staff absences, high-volume periods, or special projects.

High school graduate or equivalent. Certification of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required. One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required. Excellent communication and multitasking skills. Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications. Essential Job Duties Float between assigned Urology Austin locations to provide clinical support as scheduled. Escort patients to exam or treatment rooms and obtain vitals, allergies, and medication lists. Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests following established protocols. Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and lab processing as trained and authorized. Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and properly sanitized after each patient. Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards. Record all patient data accurately in the EMR system. Communicate effectively with providers and site managers regarding daily priorities and coverage needs. Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and dependability in all assignments. Support other clinical staff as needed to ensure seamless patient care. All other duties as assigned. Performance Requirements Knowledge: Medical practice and clinical care standards to assist in providing patient care. Examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Operation of standard medical equipment and instruments. Infection control, safety, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
Performing medical assisting tasks efficiently and accurately. Taking and recording vital signs. Maintaining clinical records and completing documentation.
