The Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound exams and maintaining patient workflow while ensuring quality assessment. They must also validate patient orders, prepare exam rooms, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Candidates must have a high school equivalent and complete an accredited program in Sonography. They should also possess relevant certifications and demonstrate knowledge of ultrasound equipment and patient care.
Completion of an accredited program in a school of Sonography (Required) Successfully passed physics (SPI) (Required upon hire) Work Experience 1 year experience as a medical songrapher sonography (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures (Preferred proficiency) Basic computer knowledge. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment. (Required proficiency) Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machines and IVAC pumps.
