Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with musculoskeletal conditions to improve movement and function. Develops individualized treatment plans and provides supervision to physical therapist assistants and support staff.
Requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Masters, or Bachelor's degree from a CAPTE-accredited program. Must hold a license from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
Responsible to: Rehab Director
Workers Supervised: General supervision of physical therapist assistants and support staff
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all hospital and clinic departments
Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with musculoskeletal injuries or conditions that limit their movement and function. Develops individualized treatment plans and goals with and for patients.
Delegate appropriate tasks to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support personnel. Provide general supervision to PTAs. Trains and educates PTAs as needed.
Complete accurate and timely documentation on patients being treated or refusals, cancellations or no shows as encountered.
Carry out In-Service education when necessary.
Assist other departmental personnel in cleaning up after treatment, preparing patients, and changing linens. Maintain inter and intra-departmental relations at an optimal level.
Attends and participates in departmental and hospital meetings as requested.
Experience: Preferred one year of clinical experience
Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree, Masters of Physical Therapy or Bachelor’s of Physical Therapy from a Commission or Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Required Certifications/Registrations: License from Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 lbs. or more. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking and considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, & crouching
Motor coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to carry out procedures as outlined
Normal eye sight, with or without corrective lenses
Normal hearing, with or without hearing aid
Working Conditions: Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Certified Residential Medication Aide/Personal Support Specialist (CRMA/PSS)
Domestic and Sexual Violence Counselor
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
