Assists physicians with patient procedures, including administering injections, applying splints, and performing various diagnostic tests. Additionally, the role involves handling clerical tasks and floating to other clinics during high patient volumes.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and one year of clinical work experience, which can include internships. A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is preferred.
Summary: Assists Physicians with all patient procedures. Give injections and applies dressings and splints. Collects specimens, runs lab tests, performs EKGs, Drug screen collection, Breath Alcohols, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Audiometric testing. Performs clerical duties as assigned. During times of high patient volume and/or to assist with coverage, may be asked to float to other PPG clinics.
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff by assisting with patient care and procedures. Responsibilities include administering injections and applying dressings and splints. The Medical Assistant collects specimens and performs in-office testing, including laboratory tests, EKGs, drug screen collections, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, and audiometric testing. In addition to clinical duties, the Medical Assistant performs clerical and administrative tasks as assigned. During periods of high patient volume or to support staffing needs, the Medical Assistant may be asked to float to other PPG clinics.
