Perform blood gas analysis and quality control procedures under the supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Manage the inventory, delivery, and maintenance of respiratory therapy and bronchoscopy equipment and medical gas tanks.
Requires a high school diploma with a preference for college coursework in biology, chemistry, and advanced algebra. One year of allied health experience and BLS provider certification are preferred.
Perform blood gas analysis. Inventory Respiratory Therapy equipment. Clean Respiratory Therapy/Bronchoscopy equipment. Deliver medical gas tanks/change tank banks.
High school graduate with the ability to work well with patients and accurately with numbers. One semester of college biology, chemistry, and advanced algebra preferred
One year of allied health experience preferred.
Performs functions under supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist 1. Performs blood gas analysis. 2. Effectively recognizes equipment functionality status and appropriately troubleshoots equipment. 3. Performs blood gas quality control procedures and documents results appropriately. 4. Delivers medical gas tanks to hospital units. 5. Switches and changes tank banks in tank room, as well as large cylinders in other areas of hospital as needed. 6. Inventories disposable equipment in Respiratory Therapy Department and ICU storeroom and replaces as needed. 7. Disassembles, cleans and reassembles Respiratory Therapy equipment. 8. Exchange disposable set ups as needed. 9. O2 tanks and regulators (transporting, storage, changing regulators. 10. Home O2 tank delivery 11. Inventory of Respiratory Therapy Equipment 12. Prep ventilators for use 13. Restock respiratory stock rooms/areas 14. Handwashing Audits 15. Charges for Oxygen ‐ validate with finance/regulatory
