The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and develops functional treatment plans specifically for the Spinal Cord Specialty team. They are responsible for directing discipline-specific therapy services and educating patients, families, and co-workers.
Candidates must hold current state licensure or eligibility as an Occupational Therapist and be BLS certified. At least one year of experience or exposure to the spinal cord injury population is required.

BSWIR is seeking a full time Occupational Therapist for our Spinal Cord Specialty team. This team sees complex spinal cord patients as well as other spinal diagnosis. This person should have at least 3 years of experience or exposure to SCI population. The ideal candidate will have a love of learning and a passion for the Spinal Cord population. Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
