Requires a Bachelor's degree in dietetics or a related field, completion of an ACEND-accredited internship, and registration as a Registered Dietitian. Must be licensed in the State of Oklahoma, with a Master's degree and one year of clinical experience preferred.

Join our team of dynamic dietitians! At Stephenson Cancer Center at Hillcrest (Tulsa, OK), you are the expert in oncology nutrition and your work is of great value. The dietitian in this position will function as an interprofessional member of the healthcare team, providing patient-centered care in the outpatient setting. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p. The Dietitian in this position will function as an interprofessional member of their specialty area of dietetics practice. They will adhere to the current Scope and Standards of Practice for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and elevate the standard of care to reflect the focus area standards of their specialty area of practice. Performance must be in alignment with their designation as a Competent, Proficient, or Expert practitioner in accordance with the focus area standards for their specialty area of practice. Essential Responsibilities Demonstrating Ethics and Competence in Practice: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) demonstrates competence, accountability, and responsibility for ensuring safe, ethical, and quality person-centered care and services through regular self-evaluation, and timely continuing professional education to maintain and enhance knowledge, skills, and experiences. Striving for Health Equity: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) approach to practice reflects the value the profession places on health equity in all forms of interaction when delivering care and/or services to colleagues, customers, students/interns, and when interacting with stakeholders. Illustrating Quality in Practice: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) provides quality services effectively and efficiently using systematic processes with identified ethics, leadership, accountability, and dedicated resources. Demonstrating Leadership, Interprofessional Collaboration, and Management of Programs, Services, and Resources: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) provides safe, quality service based on customer expectations and needs; the mission, vision, principles, and values of the organization/business; and integration of interprofessional collaboration. Applying Research and Guidelines: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) applies, participates in, and/or generates research to enhance practice. Evidence-based practice incorporates the best available research/evidence and information in the delivery of nutrition and dietetics services. Providing Effective Communications and Advocacy: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) effectively applies knowledge and expertise in communications with customers and the public, and in public policy advocacy efforts. Providing Person-/Population-Centered Nutrition Care: The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) conducts nutrition care process and workflow elements to identify and address nutrition-related problems which a RDN is responsible for treating, incorporating the following elements: Reviews or obtains nutrition screening data to identify malnutrition or risk of malnutrition Obtains and evaluates medical, nutrition, and food-related information for relevance and accuracy Identifies and labels nutrition problem(s)/diagnosis(es) Develops plan and implements culturally appropriate person-/population-centered nutrition interventions Monitors and evaluates person-/intervention-specific indicators and outcomes data to determine whether planned interventions should be continued or revised Documents and communicates results with interprofessional team and patients/clients/caregivers. General Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or related area, granted by a US regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent required. Completion of required dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship, or a Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Master’s degree preferred.
