The Registered Nurse will supplement nursing staff across the Cardiac, Neonatal, and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, practicing within the legal scope and adhering to all hospital policies and standards. Key duties involve demonstrating transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, and maintaining patient safety through critical thinking and clear communication.
Candidates must possess a minimum of an ASN degree, with a BSN preferred, and hold a Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia along with current CPR certification. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to adjust to changes, and proficiency in critical care nursing for complex patients across multiple intensive care settings.
The Critical Care Float Pool supplements the nursing staff for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care require registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children's National support the development of RN relationships within the community; specifically those relationships associated with the health and well being of the community at large.

Required Skills/Knowledge The licensed Registered Nurse will successfully complete the hospital and nursing orientation at Children’s National. Role model organizational skills, adjust for changes and is able to complete assignment on time.
