The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment through medication management and individual counseling. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient stabilization and recovery within a health center setting.
Requires a Master's or Doctorate in a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program, a valid California NP license, and DEA authorization. Candidates must have at least one year of psychiatric nursing experience and current BLS certification.
Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural professional and experiential background. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Working conditions Work is primarily conducted in a standard health center environment. Basic safety precautions and use of protective clothing or gear may be required. Working with clients who are seriously mentally ill, or high risk may increase exposure to secondary trauma.
