The Physicians Clinic of Iowa Department of Orthopedics is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler for its busy practice. This individual will be responsible for the entire scheduling process including, but not limited to the following:

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to

Coordinate surgery with patient, hospital, anesthesia, and physician’s schedule.

Schedule labs, radiology studies, and EKG’s when indicated.

Schedule preadmission surgical appointments if indicated.

Schedule appointments with family physician, cardiologist, or any referring physicians if appropriate.

Work with Prior Authorization team to obtain insurance prior authorizations for diagnostic testing and surgical procedures.

Previous experience in medical office performing similar functions, preferred.
Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
