Intern - Pharmacy

• Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
• In addition, performs duties of a pharmacy technician; gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently.
• Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
• Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies; and assists with drug diversion surveillance.
• Assists with training new pharmacy staff.
• Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories.
• Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize critical work appropriately and assure timely delivery of product to the patient care areas.
• Ability to provide optimal customer service through verbal and written communication skills.
