The APP provides comprehensive direct patient care, including diagnostic testing, interpreting results, and determining treatment plans in collaboration with physicians. Additional duties include patient education, disposition planning, and contributing to staff education and quality improvement programs.
Candidates must have a Master of Science in Nursing for NPs or be a graduate of an accredited PA program with national certification. Current Alabama licensure and BLS certification are required.
Education required: Completion of a Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing. Successful completion of a national certification exam for NP or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program License, certification and/or registration: Current registration with the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners or current Alabama PA license. Approval of the Crestwood Hospital credentialing board. BLS certification required by the end of the orientation period Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Works well with others in a team environment. Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred
