Operates radiographic and digital imaging equipment to assist cardiologists in diagnosing and treating heart arrhythmias. Acts as a first assistant during diagnostic studies, therapeutic ablations, and surgical device implantations.
Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) licensed in the state of employment with CPR certification. Requires two years of experience as an RT or one year as a Cath Lab/special procedure technician.
The best career is right here. Operates and maintains all radiographic, digital, processing and viewing equipment associated with the production of high-quality images. Assist in the operation of mapping system and ablation generator. Applies principles of radiation safety and protection. Acts as first assistant during diagnostic EP studies, therapeutic ablation procedures, and surgical device implantations to assure completeness of case. Maintains a thorough knowledge in the use of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and products for procedures to ensure its’ accuracy and safety. Reviews the pre-procedural patient assessment to obtain adequate information, communicate pertinent data to MD and ensure appropriate imaging and patient safety. Assist in the education process of new employees, mentors students and other healthcare professionals observing in the EP lab. Assist in the development of performance improvement activities in the EP lab, to include ideas, data collection, data analysis and implementing change to ensure best practice in the EP lab. Assist to maintain accurate implantable device database. Must be able to perform above duties based on “population served” standards /competencies to include age-specific and diverse patient types. Performs other duties as assigned.
