The Pre-op RN is responsible for preparing patients for surgery by conducting assessments, administering medications, and starting IVs. They ensure all pre-operative protocols are followed and coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Texas RN license, and 1-3 years of experience in PreOp/PACU or ICU. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
To act as patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the health care team at the Center. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the organization. The Pre-op nurse will ensure quality care to the individual patients pre-operatively including, but not limited to geriatric, adult, pediatric and adolescent patients.
