Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Post Procedure Unit Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center, you will assume a vital leadership role in our Post Procedure Unit, focusing on assessing patient/family health problems and resources, and developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. This direct care RN position provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations, serving diverse age groups from young adult to geriatric. Every day you will provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, meticulously organizing and prioritizing patient activities to balance their needs and comfort. You will act as a patient advocate through holistic practices. Daily tasks include utilizing the SBAR communication tool for effective physician notification, performing bedside nurse-to-nurse reports, and actively involving patients and families in their care plans to ensure desired outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to recognize your scope of practice by seeking multidisciplinary collaboration and utilizing appropriate resources. Your capacity to assume accountability for decisions, partner with others to effect change, and effectively delegate tasks will be essential in this dynamic Perioperative nursing environment.
