Job description

Riverchase Dermatology Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is one of the largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care providers in the Southeast offering medical and surgical dermatology.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnician to join our growing pathology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination to assist pathologists in accurate diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

Process tissue specimens through routine and special staining procedures
Operate and maintain histological equipment including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines
Perform embedding, sectioning, and mounting of tissue specimens
Conduct quality control checks on stains and equipment
Maintain accurate records and documentation per laboratory protocols
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
Participate in continuing education and training programs

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Histotechnology program OR equivalent experience
HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of histology experience required
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
