Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, or two years of paraprofessional experience. Candidates must have at least one year of professional experience with mentally ill individuals and a valid Michigan driver's license.

Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Adult Mental Health Services/Crisis Services serves as a professional performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health services, including answering the crisis phone lines, conducting crisis intervention encounters with individuals on the phone, providing brief Solution Focused Therapy, teaching coping skills, conducting de-escalation, aiding individuals with problem-solving, connecting with appropriate level of care, and working with police, 911 call center, and other providers as needed. Additional duties include documenting contacts, providing support via data entry into the electronic records system, recommending referrals to various programs, program components, or other services in the community, and assisting with hospital referrals/placements for inpatient needs. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA’s mission, policies, and procedures.
A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is required. A minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness is required. On a case-by-case basis, we may assess and consider an applicant with two years of paraprofessional experience working with persons with mental illness is required. Must be able to operate a computer and have the ability to gain proficiency in CMHA-CEI’s computer systems, including Smart Care and Microsoft Word. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use is required.

$24.76 hourly. Part-time 0-19 hours weekly.
