Provide critical care nursing in the Emergency Department, including patient assessment, medication administration, and ventilation management. Responsible for executing emergency protocols, monitoring cardiac rhythms, and managing triage using the ESI tool.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a valid New Jersey state RN license. Must hold AHA-approved BLS and ACLS certifications.
Central Line Catheter care Performs venipuncture, IV infusion therapy and pump usage Wound care assessment, documentation and wound prevention protocol as per policy Completes Plan of Care. Initiate, review and resolve based on diagnosis and history Completes assessments and reassessments and required documentation accurately and timely Renders appropriate nutritional care including enteral + parenteral therapies Medication administration which includes critical medications and evaluates response Adheres to infection prevention protocol including but not limited to hand hygiene, PPE and universal precautions Administration of blood and blood products Able to perform chest PT, oral, naso, tracheostomy, endo, and tracheal suctioning Activates Core Measures and Septic Protocols as indicated Reports critical Lab, Radiology, EKG, + ABG values to MD according to policy Interprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventions Identifies + responds to emergency situations Proficient in ventilation management + pulmonary support Demonstrates proficiency in life support; code blue and Rapid Response Adapts to varied age specific patient populations; e.g. infant, toddler, adult, etc. Identifies concomitant health + social needs of patients Ensures proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation including follow-up referral Interprets cardiac monitor rhythm + performs appropriate interventions Assists with bedside interventional procedures Uses Emergency Severity Index(ESI) tool appropriately in triage Activates ER Nursing Protocols appropriately
BS in Nursing. Valid NJ state RN License. BLS, ACLS - AHA APPROVED
