The Monitor Tech is responsible for continuously monitoring EKG rhythms and notifying nursing staff of pertinent changes or dysrhythmias. Additionally, they observe patients on EMU therapy to recognize and document seizure activity while maintaining monitoring equipment.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and complete an EKG/Dysrhythmia course within 90 days of hire. While less than one year of experience is required, prior experience in a healthcare environment as a monitor technician is preferred.
