Responsible for evaluating and managing suitable organ donors and overseeing the procurement process from evaluation through recovery. This includes coordinating with hospital staff, managing donor maintenance, and ensuring all medical and legal requirements are met.
Requires an associate degree or certification in nursing or a related healthcare field, with a bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in emergency medicine or critical care is strongly preferred.

A Clinical Donation Coordinator is responsible for the evaluation and management of suitable organ donors in addition to the placement of all recovered organs per ConnectLife policies. This person will also develop and maintain active participation within assigned hospitals related to the initiation and completion of the donation process.
Salary: Exempt $90,000 annually
• Minimum of one year emergency medicine or critical care experience strongly preferred.
1. Take 24-hour call as a member of the organ procurement team.
2. Evaluate imminent death referrals for organ donation potential.
3. Manage on-site referral, authorization, donor maintenance, and recovery activities at a hospital when there is a potential donor. Oversee all organ procurement activities from evaluation through recovery along with the allocation of organs.
4. Follow the donor management guidelines approved by the ConnectLife Medical Director to maximize donor potential. If needed, engage physicians, practitioners, transplant surgeons, ConnectLife Medical Director, and ConnectLife Administrator on call (AOC) as resources for interventions and plan of care to maximize donor potential.
5. Provide ongoing education to administrative and clinical hospital staff regarding the organ donation process.
6. Assist in information-sharing activities with potential donor families and coordinate the authorization process with the authorizing individual.
7. Ensure that all medical/legal requirements are met before donor surgery.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and ConnectLife policies for organ recovery.
9. Maintain donor records to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and ConnectLife policies.
10.Provide follow-up on all pre and post recovery donor lab work, cultures autopsy, etc as needed.
11. Provide feedback to the donor hospital, donor family, and others as necessary.
12. Participate in Hospital Development activity and Medical Record Review as necessary.
13. Remain proactive to stay informed and up to date regarding changes in the field of organ donation and allocation.
14. Maintain/obtain any necessary certification and/or education required for the position.
