The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in dispensing medications and medical supplies, maintaining patient records, and managing inventory. The role also involves preparing IV admixtures and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a current Florida Pharmacy Technician license. Six months of experience is preferred, and knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations is necessary.
General Statement of Job
Under a Certified Pharmacist direct supervision, this position assists the Pharmacist with preparing medication and medical supply orders for delivery to patients and performs clerical tasks within the pharmacy. The employee is responsible for maintaining accurate patient information on patient profiles, processing billing, maintaining inventory and maintaining complete files. This position requires patient and public interaction and the ability to work well with the public and health care professionals.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters or to perform otheremergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats ordisasters, man-made or natural.
