Responsible for setting up interventional radiology rooms and preparing patients for specific exams. Ensures high-quality imaging through proper equipment arrangement and accurate record keeping in the PACS system.
Requires completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology and a valid Radiologic Technologist license. ARRT certification with CE credits is required upon hire, with one year of experience preferred.
Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted. Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit. Progresses towards proficient and competent performance with regards to interventional procedures, fluoroscopy room equipment, digital subtraction, inventory, power injections and post processing tools. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed. Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors to produce a high quality image. Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure. Observes each patient’s status and interprets appropriate information needed to meet age-specific needs. Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transferboards, hover mats. Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly. Completes and bills for studies accurately. Other duties as assigned.
