The Patient Care Assistant provides essential support in patient care, including bathing, positioning, and transporting patients. They are also responsible for stocking shelves, cleaning equipment, and assisting with dietary tasks under RN supervision.
A high school diploma or GED is required, and BLS certification is mandatory. CNA training and certification, as well as previous hospital secretarial experience, are preferred.
Overview The Patient Care Assistant assists the unit in patient care duties such as cleaning/bathing patients, positioning, re-positioning and transporting patients, stocking shelves, cleaning equipment and assisting with dietary tasks. All work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
