The CT Technologist is responsible for positioning patients, administering contrast media, and performing CT scans while ensuring image quality. They also handle equipment quality assurance, clerical tasks, and maintain a clean work environment.
Candidates must have ARRT and IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety certifications, BLS through the American Heart Association, and 2-3 years of undergraduate education. ARRT registry in CT or MRI and one year of experience are preferred.
On call every 4th-5th weekend, 1 Sat or Sun 24-hour call shift No Weekends 1-2 days per year, holiday rotation. Variables start and end times. The CT Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table. Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions. Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer. Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort. Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs. Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs. Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping. Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed
Required: ARRT IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety BLS through American Heart Association 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent Preferred: ARRT registry in CT or MRI 1 year experience
