Ultrasound Technologist (Per Diem, Variable Shift)

• Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011.

• Job Summary: Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
• Produces images of internal body tissues in order to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy and cancer.
• Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel.
• Maintains equipment.
• Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Diploma/certificate from an Ultrasound college/school: Required Licenses/Certifications: ACR Accredited Sites: All sonographers must be certified and currently registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB) or Vascular (RVT); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS); or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS) within one year of hire: Required in CA and HI (with multiple areas Preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) or ARRT-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) or ARRT-Sonography (ARRT-S): Required Essential Functions: Uses ultrasound equipment to direct high-frequency sound waves to a prescribed area of the patient's body and capture quality images that describe the composition, shape and motion of tissues, organs, vessels and pathology.
• Summarizes, documents, verifies and presents images, findings, calculations and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
• Adheres to ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, precautions and standards.
• Provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition and ability to cooperate.
• Positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures and continually monitors and records vital signs.
• Observes for reactions and signs of impending complications and intervening as needed.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information.
• Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Prepares rooms and patients for subsequent ultrasound procedures.
• Verifies operational status of equipment prior to daily utilization.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
