Unit

Ambulatory Medical Surgery Unit (AMSU) outpatient unit Skills: Incumbent will provide pre-operative/pre-procedure, post-operative/post-procedure nursing care to Veterans who will undergo or have undergone moderate sedation and/or anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures. (Operating Room, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Pulmonary Lab, CT/MRI (pre and post hydration), GI Suites, Interventional Radiology, and the Pain Clinic). Conduct daily post-operative/post-procedure follow-up phone calls. Provide additional coverage for the Urology Clinic, Pain Clinic, Wound Care and the Pre-anesthesia Clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure

Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.

Certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificates accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Experience

At least three (3) years nursing experience, including experience with outpatient or ambulatory surgery.

Education

ASN accepted; BSN preferred. Education must have been completed at a school accredited by the ACEN or CCNE.
